*** Warning ***
The silicone coated fabric that we use is very popular for lightweight products, but it will burn so keep it away from heat or open flame.

We send a fabric swatch with each tent for a test burn… after burning a fabric swatch the customer needs to decide to either to accept the risk of using the product with this fabric or return the unused product for full refund.

Great Tent

Recently had to scrap our trip to Catalina Island due to weather and headed to Joshua Tree instead. We still got rain, but only for 1 night. The tent worked great. Bone dry and easy to set up/take down. Packs down really small too. Highly recommend.

My first thoughts on my new tent

I set up my tent to check it out BUT was a bit taken aback by the swatches warning about the combustibility of the tent. I don’t cook near my tent. Do I need to keep REALLY well clear of others in a campground so sparks don’t ignite it? Hmmmm….

We apologize that the fabric's flammability was a surprise to you.

We suggest burning one or more of the fabric swatches we sent with your tent. After burning a fabric swatch you need to decide whether to accept the risk of using the tent with this fabric or return the unused product for full refund.

We will pay the return shipping cost and give you a full refund if you want to return the tent.

A whole lotta Soul

I bought the Soul 1P because I want a smaller, lighter unit for bikepacking and touring and this one came highly recommended and it was priced too good to pass. I have not yet tried it ‘in the wild’, but I have set it up and slept in it in my house. It’s fast and easy to stand up and cozy yet roomy enough for me. While the ‘end opening’ is different than my other 2P rig, I’m not concerned. I’m excited to use it as soon as I can! It will save weight and space on my Trek 520, or in my backpack annd even with the homemade footprint, it fits nicely in its stuff-sack! Thank you Big Sky and “Exploring wild”. Great service from Big Sky!

Buying a second tent.

I have had great experience with Big Sky's 1 person tents in the past, this will be my second soul tent. The first lasted more than five years. Lightweight equipment often is not adequately durable, but that is not the case with these tents. Also, I was glad to find that they still offer excellent customer support.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • I'm 6'1" and typically get long versions of sleep bags/pads that are 196cm in length. I understand this is longer than the recommended length for your 1p Soul tent, but would there still be enough space to accommodate this size?

We rate Big Sky's Soul 1P tent for those up to 6ft 1in so you should be OK... we suggest you set up the tent in your house so it stays new to check out the size, etc. If you find it was not what you expected, you can return it for full refund, including shipping cost.

  • バイクパッキングバージョン 30CM(12IN)折りたたみポールとウルトラライトバージョン43CM折りたたみポール の違いと、メリット、デメリット教えてください。

What are the differences, advantages and disadvantages of the bike packing version 30CM (12IN) folding pole and the ultralight version 43CM folding pole?

Both Ultra Light and Bikepacking pole options are aluminum... strength is similar.
    - Ultra Light poles: lighter weight, folding length 36cm, and more expensive
    - Bikepacking poles: shorter folding length (30cm), weight is a little more than Ultra Light poles, and less expensive

  • Can this tent stand on its own without stakes?

Yes, the Soul tent series can stand on its own with stakes... that said, there are two (2) stake/peg loops (one on each side) that help hold the outer away from the inner, and angles the sides creating a more aerodynamic shape so it is easier for the wind to pass over the tent.

  • Is it possible to use the bikepacking (shorter) poles with the ultralight version of the Soul 1P? If so, how much would it weigh? How much would it cost?
