One of the Most Comfortable Inflatable UltraLight Pillows made...

With a weight of about 50g (less than 2oz) and a small packed size a couple of Big Sky's inflatable UltraLight pillows can fit in the palm of your hand, so Big Sky's pillows can be taken anywhere.

Pillow is ergonomically designed to cradle a person's head for a good night's sleep.

Big Sky uses high grade Thermo PolyUrethane (TPU) for this product that has a higher strength to weight ratio than PVC that some cheap pillows are made out of.

Since Big Sky's UltraLight pillow is made with TPU it can be used in the winter, unlike cheaper pillows made with PVC that will crack when it gets too cold.

TPU goes though a natural aging process, initially transparent, then translucent, and eventually opaque.

TPU is also more environmental friendly than PVC.

Size: The un-inflated dimensions are 50cm (20in) x 30cm (12in)
The pillow inflates up to about 10cm (4in) thick

Includes: ultra light weight stuff sack, and removable elastic cord to attach the pillow to a mattress pad

Weights:
pillow only: 45.5g +/- 2SD 1.3g (1.6oz +/- 0.05oz)
extra long elastic cord: 4.9g (cut or remove to reduce weight)
stuff sack: 4.0g

Warranty: If for some reason your pillow develops a leak within one (1) year of purchasing it, send the leaky bladder to Big Sky for a FREE replacement.

Tip: We have found blowing hard does not do much to speed inflation... better to blow slow... blowing slow takes less than 30 seconds to fill a pillow... and then most people usually let some air out after inflation... about 80% full seems to be the most comfortable level of inflation for many people.

TIPS for using pillow by Robert Hammenrudh
1) use neck gaiter / buff for a pillow cover
2) use T-shirt to hold pillow on air mattress

Great ultralight pillow

The size and weight can’t be beat, and it’s pretty comfy!

Comfy and light!

Awesome bladder. I paired it with a pillow case I cut down for a combined weight of 2.5oz, and it's just as (if not more) comfortable than my Exped Mega Pillow (7.6oz). Awesome stuff!

Best UL Pillow

You wouldn't think it by looking at it, but this is by far the most comfortable inflatable pillow I have tried, and I've tried at least 3 others. On top of that, it is also the lightest. I side sleep, so need a thick pillow, and this is thick enough on it's own to be comfortable. A buff, which I'm already carrying anyway, makes a perfect pillow case. I got some stick on loops from Z-Packs to add a shock cord strap. I'll stuff part of my puffy jacket underneath the buff and this this is as comfy as my pillow at home, but it's still good enough with pillow alone and buff on trips when I am not carrying a puffy. Inflation and deflation is a bit slow thanks to the wonky valve, but I appreciate its simplicity and light weight, and a great ability to fine tune the level of inflation.

Good pillow. Bad valve.

Very lightweight pillow. Very comfortable to sleep on. The valve design, however, is horrible. It takes a long time to inflate and deflate it.

Thank you for your review. QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • Hi, I’d like to know how flexible/stretchy the TPU material is? This seems to be the biggest issue for me in order to get a comfortable sleep. I mean it needs to have a certain amount of stretch not to get an aching ear when sleeping on the side. Thanks! /Thomas

Sorry, we are not sure how to answer your question... we think the DreamSleeper pillow is a little more flexible than other brands... also, we suggest only filling pillow about 80% full... if the pillow is too tight (inflated too much), we do not think it is as comfortable.

  • I don't see the pillow case for the UL pillow. Where would I find that item?

You can order the DreamSleeper Deluxe pillow case for the DreamSleeper UL pillow here:
    https://bigskyinternational.com/products/dreamsleeper-deluxe-pillow-case-only

  • Does the pillow have attachment loops for bungee cord to use as a pad strap?

The latest version of Big Sky's UltraLight pillow includes a removable elastic cord to attach the pillow to a mattress.

  • Is the pillow noisy? I move around a ton when I sleep, switching sides and rearranging my position. My sleeping pad makes a sound with every twist or turn. I would like to know if there would be a similar issue with this pillow. Have a great day!

Unfortunately, we do not think this is a yes or no answer... It depends on some different factors and also the user.

    For example:
    1) It depends on if the pillow is covered... while the UL pillow is "bare" we recommend covering when using it with a neck gaiter (BUFF), T-shirt, etc. The covering will absorb noise, making the pillow quieter. (We offer a Deluxe pillow cover.)
    2) It depends on how full the pillow is inflated... we recommend about 80% full... too full of air we think will be less comfortable and the pillow will be tighter and be more noisy... think of a balloon... if very full/tight it will make more noise when "thumped" that when less inflated.
    3) It depends on the user... some people are more sensitive to noise than others.

Our pillows are made of quality TPU from Taiwan that is less noisy than less expensive and more noisy pillows made with PVC.

We think the majority of our customer would consider our pillows "quiet" but there will be a few that may not agree.
