Is ist possible to use the tent without the small pole for the porch, so just with 2 poles ? So that i can choose to go on trip with 2 or 3 poles
It is possible to setup the Revolution 2P tent and use only 2 long poles and not the short 3rd Porch pole, but there would we some lose outer fabric that blow in the wind and there would not be as much headroom and sagging fabric inside since there would be no 3rd Porch pole to hold it up.
Hi. I wonder why you do not give clear info about water poles. And what they are. I saw that you already wrote 2000 in one answer but I found 1500 at a resellers webpage. Could you garantee that its at least 2000? How did you test that?
We assume you are referring to fabric we use in a Big Sky tent's outer/fly... at one time Big Sky's waterproof rating was 1,500mm, but a few years again we raised it to 2,000mm because our hydrostatic testing showed Big Sky's fabric for the past few years has been over 2,000mm. We own a hydrostatic tester and test each shipment of fabric we receive. For more info: https://bigskyinternational.com/pages/fabric-comparison-table
What is the difference (weight, folded size, material, etc...) between the bikepacking poles and the DAC UL poles?
pole options:
Ultra Light poles: lighter weight, 43cm folding length, and more expensive
Bikepacking poles: shorter 30cm folding length, a little heavier, and less expensive
Both are made of aluminum and have a similar strength
Hello Big Sky, I was wondering if the Revolution 2p can be pitched as inner only. Thanks!
If you want to pitch inner only, Evolution tent series is a better choice..
Revolution tent series is better for pitching outer only
Two question about fabric version of the *inner* tent: - is the door fully mesh all of its size or only partially? - is the inner tent door two layered, one is mesh and the other is fabric? Question of the outer tent: - if the outer tent doors are fully open, does the rain reach inner tent? My use case: in hot but unstable weather keep the outer tent doors fully open all of the time. I keep the inner tent door closed with full size mesh only (keep the bugs out and get the view). When it gets colder, cover the inner tent mesh with fabric, partially or fully, still keeping the outer tent doors open. In the even colder or stormy weather, finally close the outer tent.
Two question about fabric version of the *inner* tent:
- is the door fully mesh all of its size or only partially?
> The Mesh Netting version is entirely Mesh Netting
- is the inner tent door two layered, one is mesh and the other is fabric?
> There are two completely different inners. The Breathable Fabric version is Breathable fabric with "Mesh Netting" window in door. There is a "Breathable Fabric" fabric door that can be zippered over the "Mesh Netting" window.
Question of the outer tent:
- if the outer tent doors are fully open, does the rain reach inner tent?
> Straight down rain will not enter inner... there is a 3rd pole that create a little "Porch" over each door.
