Big Sky Insulite™ insulated food pouch freezer bag cooking cozy
I've not used it! But...I've made my own cozies out of metallic bubble wrap type insulation that work sick great. But they do wear out, crease and the bubbles pop. With that said the Big Sky cozy is thinner so not sure how effective the insulation is. Its well made, very compact and weighs almost nothing. I test fit a Mountain House meal for 2 type dehydrated food pouch and they fit easily (after you tear off the removable top tab. This cozy has a nice Velcro flap to keep the bag closed while steeping. A nice improvement over using my girlfriends hair clip to close my homemade cozy.I'll report this summer on heat retention.
Thank you for your review. We use premium PrimaLoft insulation so I think you will find that the weight to insulation ratio is pretty good. We look forward to your update this summer. Maybe add pictures when you update? Thank you again for your review and comments.
I first saw this cozy in a backpacking video of David Gray’s in YouTube. He raves about it, so figured I’d give it a try. It is awesome. Does exactly what it says, is light, and compact. A must have prepping freeze dried meals.
